We have our tickets for Star Trek. Woo hoo! This is the film I've looked forward to most since Iron Man (and before that 300).
As with those two films, what has whet my appetite is the trailer. It's practically perfect for my film-story tastes: the chosen one, heroism, conflict, aliens, explosions, jokes, time travel... Wow. I don't know who made the trailer but they should get a cut of the first dollar gross.
So tomorrow afternoon, I'll be stuffing my face with popcorn and my mind with, well, moviecorn, and loving every minute of it. Then I'll be at the pub with my sweetie, reliving the whole thing, waving my beer around shouting Pow! Zap! Fire everything!

I can't wait either. I'm taking my kid on Saturday fer sher, to watch a New Generation Get Sucked In.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to it too. I've long been a fan. I only have one question for you. Are these guys old enough to shave?
ReplyDelete@barbara -which is my nit-picking point. I watched Captain Kirk when he first appeared on TV and he was much older than the child they are using to portray him now. I am really tired of adults being replaced with children. Did they kill off all of the adults and how did this boy's few years garner so much experience? *frown* They are doing the same thing with Dr. Who (London). He has ben replaced by someone who probably just started shaving.
ReplyDeleteI love Star Trek.....except I 'm disappointed with this movie's youth focus and the fact they turned it into a Star Wars fight and kill everyt thang instead of n evolved 'explore the universe and deal with danger' thang. Because of that, I'm not going to pay and see it. *big frown*
@Nicole - Have Fun! I know how much you like your big explosions, etc. :-)
I am looking forward to it, but I can wait after opening weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty excited about seeing it this weekend. We're going when MK gets back from a mother/daughter tea at the church on Saturday (I was able to get out of it because I don't own a dress, white gloves, or a hat that isn't a ballcap).
ReplyDeleteTerr and I are out the door to see it, as we speak. Beam me up! Scottie.
ReplyDeletesteadycat, adults are allegedly stable, responsible and BORING. Who knows what adventures, past and present, lurk behind those steady tired eyes. Right after WWII, people in the movies were YOUNG and responsible. That changed with the sixties, and we have a generation of weird children to prove it. What happened to the Prime Directive? I really enjoy the company of young people, but sometimes, they just don't get it.
